Have I got some pics for you!!

Since I'm so famous and there were reporters in the OR we were able to get some great shots of my old, sick heart beside my new heart. The lady taking the pictures said it was difficult to get the surgeons out of the way. I guess I'm ok with that... the surgeons are a little important.

You can see my old heart with the LVAD still on it and the new, fresh looking heart in front. It's pretty unbelievable to see these shots.

  1. very neat. My husband says I'm odd, but I love seeing things like this. We were told that when he gets his new heart that we can see his old one. He thought I was sick because I'd love to see it.

  2. This is remarkable. Thanks so much for sharing.

  3. SO cool!!! Absolutley fascinating. The LVAD is so much bigger than I had anticipated. Can't wait to see the video footage!! Also, gotta love the chili peppers on the surgeon's hat : )

  4. Hi Andrea,

I had heard about these pictures....Shaun showed my dad when he was in at his work one day, and I've been extremley intrigued since!! What a wonderful thing to see! Congrats on the recovery you're making, and for the incredible attitude you've had this far. I've never heard nyone as positive as you are...both your blog and story are such a joy to follow.
